Jacques has a long, demonstrated history of service and leadership, having served on the board of not-for-profits on both coasts and in leadership roles for multiple organizations for over a decade.

In addition to the above roles (detailed below), he served as Board member with Inside Out Community Arts (now P.S. Arts) and Delaware Helpline (now Delaware 311); and held a service leadership role with My Brother’s Keeper My Sister’s Keeper (MBK/MSK). In all roles, Jacques developed and/or implemented strategic and tactical plans with measurable goals and concrete timelines.
In 2016, Jacques was selected as a CUP Fellow, a highly selective one-year leadership development experience for high-trajectory professionals of color with a demonstrated commitment to non-profit and public service. Fellows come from the Finance, Not-for-profit, Technology, Law, Government and Media sectors and count among its members:
several AM Law 100 law firm partners and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) executives
numerous senior finance officers, heads of non-profits and senior government officials
over a dozen entrepreneurs
three medical doctors
an agricultural entrepreneur; and
both a sitting U.S. Congressmen and New York State Congresswoman.
Jacques served on the Fellows Alumni Board and in 2020 was selected to lead the Fellows Alumni Board as Co-Chair. He guides the Fellows Alumni Board which:
oversees the annual selection of CUP Fellows
coordinates “Genius Shares,” a monthly Alumni feature series for the current Fellows class
produces the “Convening,” an annual educational and social event which brings together alum and current Fellows
supports CUP’s fundraising and corporate partner initiatives.
As Co-Chair he also serves as liaison to the CUP Corporate Board and partner to the CUP Executive Director. He has bolstered the annual Fellows Selection Process, adding data points to the selection criteria and re-calibrating objective and subjective the weightings, to reinforce meritocratic process capturing the qualitative and quantitative characteristic. Most recently, he has added an overhaul of the Alumni Experience to the Alumni Board’s responsibilities.
The Metropolitan Black Bar Association (MBBA) Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Section (DPCS)
Since 2019 Jacques has been in senior leadership of the Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Section of the Metropolitan Black Bar Association. The MBBA, founded on July 5, 1984, combined two preexisting Black Law organizations founded in 1921 and 1933. The organization remains focused on helping its members accomplish their personal and professional goals, while simultaneously addressing the legal issues that impact our Black communities.
In 2021, Jacques was selected as Co-Chair, where he collaborates in setting the Section’s vision and implementing the strategy. He oversees all Section matters including development of the annual program curriculum, moderating monthly section meetings, and liaising with MBBA organizational leadership.
He created and leads the Advisory Committee, a five member group of in-house, government, and private practice attorneys responsible for developing and executing Section objectives relating to membership, programming, events, professional development, and inter/intra- section collaboration with thought leadership organizations within the MBBA and other Bar associations.
The Section hosted events providing privacy and/or security perspective on considerations for returning to the office; best practices for professionals in a workplace that now includes home; and multiple events on building and advancing careers in privacy and cybersecurity. Watts Labor Community Action Committee (WLCAC)
The WLCAC has been the seminal social service institution in Southern Los Angeles for the last 50+ years, now serving over 30,000 South Central residents annually by providing an array of social services spanning a lifetime, beginning with child care and extending through health services, job training, inmate reentry support, and senior citizen nutrition and day care.
As Board member, Finance Committee member, and Endowment Fund Chair, Jacques:
advised the CEO and Board broadly on financial, technology, fund development matters and issue spotted legal considerations.
drafted investment policy, set asset allocation parameters, and oversaw investment managers for the Endowment.
bolstered funding development and supported grant writing teams by advocating for and winning Board and CEO support to modernize the website. That included:
articulating the web presence deficiency, pitching the vision, and developing the site map to secure Board support
assembling a design team of grant writers, archivists and a webmaster to create and identify content
working along-side the design team overseeing a multi-phase website building plan to completion.
